(this is from yesterday as well.)
It rained. I watched two movies. I ate grilled cheese. got on the computer umpteen times. chatted to a few
dear friends. longed for a nap, but never found time. that was my day.

7.30.2010

my sisters and I took some photos today.  the weather was lovely, and the lighting was beautiful.

this post should be called "my friends kid Samuel"

I love this kid.  he's so cute.  especially when he has ice cream on his face. we had a party today at our house.  it was for my brothers graduation, and my sister's 6th birthday.  I enjoyed Samuel so much, I almost forgot the occasion of the party.

Your comments are like the smile of a toddler covered in ice cream.

My family and I went to the lake today.
Here's some homemade ice cream from the other day, complete with whipped cream and caramel.

[creep]

I went to floyd fest yesterday.  I don't see what all the hoopla was about.  just a bunch of shirtless guys, half naked hippies, and EVERYBODY had tattoos--not one of them was the least bit interesting. although, the booths were cool--lots of silver jewelry, handmade, custom made leather boots (*drools*) henna tattoos, yummy food, (I ate part of an alligator burrito--it was YUMMY) and (for the most part)good people watching. I've had my fill of people for now.  I got burned to a  crisp on my shoulders--my face isn't so bad.  and I'll probably be getting even more burned this weekend, since my family and I are going to the lake to swim.  that should be fun. I didn't have my camera with me during the day yesterday, so I only have night pictures. (and I quite like how they turned out.  aren't the tents pretty?)

jour de pluie [rainy day]

Flowers. I've been making them, and want to keep making them.  I adore them--you can wear them in your hair, on your clothes, on a bag.

The weather outside is awful. So my younger siblings have played box cars:

And made their own mailboxes out of cheerio boxes. It made me smile. (so ingenious.)

I love our kitchen window sill.

Do you like the larger photos? I do.

My grandmother is here from CA for a week or so. which means lots of shopping, and dining out, and going to see a movie. I hope it doesn't rain the whole time--we're supposed to go swimming at the lake. I will try to get a lesson or two in math done, so I won't get even more behind, but that might be difficult seeing as my grandmother is so much fun to be around.

I saw Inception last night. It was UNBELIEVABLE. You must see it. I want to see it again, but, alas, have no more money, as I'm saving it all up for that camera. =)

Your comments are like the most welcome sun on a rainy day.

"Mrs. Darling first heard of Peter when she was tidying up her children's minds.

It is the nightly custom of every good mother after her children are asleep to rummage in their minds and put things straight for the next morning, repackaging into their proper places the many articles that have wandered during the day.  If you could keep awake (but of course you can't) you would see your own mother doing this, and you would find it very interesting to watch her.  It is quite like tidying up drawers.  You would see her on her knees, I expect, lingering humorously over some of your contents, wondering where on earth you had picked this thing up, making discoveries sweet, pressing this to her cheek as if it were as nice as a kitten, and hurriedly stowing that out of sight.   When you wake in the morning, he naughtiness and evil passions with which you went to bed have been folded up small and placed at the bottom of your mid, and on the top, beautifully aired,  are spread our your prettier thoughts, ready for you to put on."  --J.M.Barrie, Peter Pan

I've been reading Peter Pan, and LOVING it.  I hadn't read it before (I'd always read the first page and tossed it aside in boredom) but I do so love it now.  I found these illustrations...and I love them.  I'm in love Arthur Rakham's work now.
I wish I could draw like this:

I washed and dried and ironed 21 curtains today for $100. phew.  took me 5 hours.  (stupid washing machine and such took forever.)  So now I have some more money for my camera I want.  But I enjoyed reading Peter Pan while I waited.
Now it is one of my favorite books.  I think I will buy it.
Some of my family is going for a picnic today.  We'll eat pizza, and listen to a free concert, and have brownies for dessert.  Summer, I love you.

I'm addicted to these songs right now:

I need a model.  I've tried using my sisters, but they don't...pose the way I want.  So I end up posing myself, because I know how the picture is supposed to look.  (although I don't like the fact that it's me.  And sorry about the small photos--I was using my mom's macbook to take these, so the file's REALLY small.)

I haven't been feeling very creative. I know it's in me somewhere, but I can't seem to get it
out. Besides the fact that I have to steal my mom's camera every time I want to take a picture of SOMETHING, I don't really feel like I don't have anything beautiful or "full of life" to
take pictures of. It seems like everything is done halfheartedly, even if I put my whole into
it. So then I think "might as well not do it anything at all." And another thing, blogging is a
fad nowadays--it's SO hard to be original--everyone puts up photos of what they wore,
something they like, or something they made--is there any way to escape THAT type of
blogging?

Maybe I'm just sitting here, trying to sound smart. >.<
